I’m lucky to have a few jobs that challenge me creatively.
Teaching Art, overseeing music at a number of church campuses, and photographing weddings and portraits.
Despite having the best jobs and the opportunities to do something creative and distinctly unique every week, I can fall into a groove of doing the same. Just like a well used path through a beautiful field, a rut is created, eventually the glorious scene is lost to the repetition of the path taken.
While doing my Art degree, a lecturer described his decision to always take a different route home, just to see if he could discover something new in a familiar action. I didn’t understand it at the time as everything seemed to be new while at uni, but the challenge seems relevant now..
