Is it unusual to want to break away from the production line of modern day existence?
I remember being struck by how the urban landscape of the movie ‘Edward Scissorhands’ had a uniformity about it that reflected the attitude and values of their fictitious occupants. That kind of cookie cutter mindset that was challenged by Edward Scissorhands’ existence and how they tried to assimilate him to their culture and way of life. Ultimately Edward couldn’t endure the transformation as it wasn’t innate and ultimately reverted back to his true self.
I can appreciate how a routined lifestyle can provide a safe and comforting existence, though does it also encourage complacency in thinking and risk taking?
